Principal warns storm could affect OHS

 By Katie Wickman

Tropical Storm Isaac appears to be on the track to hit the Tampa Bay area and may soon become a hurricane. Regarding the plans being made at OHS in preparation for the storm, Principal Mr. Bohnet said, “There are two locations that watch and track.” He said, “District personnel, in Largo… and in Tallahassee at (the) state level monitor closely.”

He also added, “They will make a decision on Sunday.” No cancellations have been made so far. Mr. Bohnet said, “It’s a kind of wait and see.” So far Mr. Bohnet said he “doesn’t know.”

In case the hurricane does hit the Tampa Bay area, Mr. Bohnet said he recommends students and parents pay close attention to the news carefully over the weekend.  “Evacuations should be taken seriously,” he said.  “Safety is the number one thing.”
