Warriors vote for Homecoming Court
September 28, 2021
Homecoming court elections are coming up on October 1st in first and second lunch. Not only are elections coming up, but many other events during Homecoming week are coming up too. Monday, October 4th kicks off spirit week with Character Day. The days following are Toy Story Day, Decades Day, and Class Colors Day. Monday, October 4th is spirit night. On spirit night, each grade competes in different games, activities, and relays. Ending Homecoming week on Thursday night is the football game, which leads up to the next day, Friday, a day off for students. Many students and teachers have their favorite events. Victoria Garvey, 9th grade, is looking forward to next week. “Character Day is my favorite day of Spirit Week because I get to dress up in a group costume with my friends”. Katie Torres, 10th grade, said, “I’m most excited for game relays and Spirit Night because it’s really fun to see all the classes go against each other in fun games, and everyone gets super competitive”. Math teacher Mrs. Richey loves spirit week too. “Hands down, dress up days. I love seeing the costumes and sometimes they’re really creative”, she said. Some students, including Lucas Tuccelli, 9th grade, may not have gone to the dance even if there was one this year. He said, “The week leading up to it is my favorite part because if there were a dance, I probably wouldn’t go to it, but I’m excited to dress up with friends and plan everything else”. 12th grader Lauren Brady said, “I’d say my sophomore year (was best) because we actually had a dance, and I was really excited for it. It was the last normal year we had. My favorite day was Decades Day.” Warriors are still unsure if there will be a pep rally this year but hope for the best.
