Brody Weather is a 9th grade track athlete who takes a unique approach to competing. Instead of just focusing on speed, Brody emphasizes the importance of mental strength and discipline. He believes that success in track and field comes from a combination of physical stamina and mental endurance. To manage pre-competition nerves and to stay more focused, Brody listens to music and practices meditation and breathing techniques. This helps him stay calm and concentrated showing that track and field is a much about mental preparation as it is about physical ability. Brody’s approach is all about finding balance. He understands that staying relaxed and positive can make as huge difference in performance. By incorporating these mental strategies, Brody not only improves his running but also enjoys the process more.
This is Brody’s first year on track, and he plans to continue next year.
