Warriors worry about U.S. finishing second at Olympics
2014 is the year of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. This year’s games have been particularly interesting due to the U.S. falling in fourth place, according to the Sochi Olympics medal standings. The US finished behind Russia in first place, Norway in second, and Canada in third place.
Many athletes here at OHS are disappointed, including Meg Fister, 9th grade, on the girls’ basketball team. She said, “I was kind of disappointed when they didn’t win some of the sports that I thought they could win. I think America could catch up to at least second but I know they’re trying really hard but the games have been really fun to watch otherwise.”
Rachel Cruz, 9th grade, a student on the track team, said, “I wish the U.S. would have placed higher.”
Madie Brown, a 9th grade student on the softball team said, “I’m mad that the USA lost hockey because they didn’t even medal.”
