Recently, the school internet has been going down and causing many issues such as interrupting the classes that use internet. The Computer Support Analyst, Mr. Hoskinson, explained that this is due to the county changing its internet providers.
Originally, the county was using Spectrum; however, towards beginning of the year they changed a state-owned internet provider. This new internet provider has higher security compared to the original one, but we share the service with multiple school districts, leading to many issues.
Mr. Hoskinson explained the issues they faced through the beginning of the year. “There have been many issues after we changed the internet provider. For example, one time, an underground utility company accidentally cut the massive fiber cable that provides internet for our school district, and, we have been cyber attacked several times, because we share a network now” he shared.
