Journalism isn’t just about writing, it’s about connecting. Understanding the difficulties of the world and sharing thoughts with others. Students make stories, posters, and work on the yearbook. If you’re passionate about storytelling, or if you’re curious about the world around you, then maybe consider taking Journalism next year when you are doing your class registration.
A message from a student taking Journalism named Marolyn Hiraldo says, “Journalism allows me to connect with others and it counts as an art credit. It helps with your leadership skills, and it builds friendships. It also teaches skills that you will use later in the future.”
Journalism class also teaches students the ethics of news reporting. In journalism, we watch Student News in the beginning of class and record news by category in our log. On Fridays, we do current events quizzes, and every week we do rotations, which means you could be taking picture of the day, be a web editor, work on yearbook, and even create a story article.
