The last day of school for students is May 29th, which is 4 weeks away! Many are excited for the upcoming break. A lot of students like summer because they don’t have to be at school. Freshman Rilana Salatandre says, “I like not being at school.” And other students have similar opinions, like Alaya Vu, who says, “My favorite thing about summer is not waking up early for school.” Another student agreed, saying, “I’m looking forward to not stressing about school.” Kylie Goodin and Harper Kalal also share similar reasons as to why they are excited for summer. Kylie says “My favorite thing is I don’t have to be at school, I have a lot of free time, and I can spend more time with my friends and family. I also can sleep more.” Harper says, “The best part about summer is not having to do schoolwork but also getting to hang out with my friends.” Isabella Zuzek shares how her favorite thing about summer is “the freedom of not having to be anywhere I don’t want to be.” Teachers at Osceola also have exciting plans for this summer. Ms. DeAtley says, “usually I work credit recovery, but I have decided not to work. I am planning to enjoy my son’s wedding in June.”
Many Warriors also have plans to travel. Gianna Rinaldi and Rilana Salatandre both are traveling to a different country! Gianna says, “I’m to Spain and Portugal for a month with my family!” Likewise, Rilana says, “I’m going to the Philippines for a month.” Other Warriors have plans to go to another state. Kylie Goodin is “traveling to Alabama and I’m really excited!” Julianna Jalbert says, “I’m heading up north to see my cousins.” Another student says, “I am going on a road trip!” Harper Kalal says, “I am traveling up to Nebraska to see some of my family.” While not all are going out of state or out of the country, many are going to be traveling to a different part of Florida. Like Isabella Zuzek, I’m going to stay in a hotel on the beach.”
Even though the Warriors are going to have some fun this summer, some also have school related things that they plan to do over the summer. Harper Kalal will be “volunteering at my church’s summer camp to get hours, I am going to be doing driver’s ed and also Hope.”
Additionally, Rilana Salatandre says, “I’m going to find a job to make money and get hours.” Furthermore, Alaya Vu is “going to do credit recovery.” Just as Harper is doing some summer classes, Gianna Rinaldi also plans “on doing AP human geography.”
Once summer starts, students have much more time to enjoy. For many students at Osceola, they have their preferred summer activities. Kylie Goodin, Harper Kalal, and Alaya Vu share the same favorite activity which is going to the beach and hanging out with their friends. While at the beach, Harper Kalal says, “I love collecting shells.” Isabella Zuzek says that “my favorite summer activity is swimming. “Similarly, Rilana Salatandre says, “I love going swimming and sleeping.” In contrast, Gianna Rinaldi shares how her favorite summer activity is “reading”
