Recently, some Warriors received a new basketball hoop and new turf to play on. So far, they don’t have any problems with it, and they seem to enjoy it a lot. Miss Randolph, an ESE teacher, said, “Keep coming back to take more pictures because soon there is going to be more stuff out there.” She stated that the kids are going to plant flowers sometime next week. Miss Randolph also said she recently power washed the concrete, and she said that there is more concrete going to be put in very soon. Miss Randolph seems to really love showing off their new area. Earlier in the years, people have said the area used to be a preschool playground. Ms. Deatley, a Journalism, English, and Yearbook teacher, said, “Over the years, that outside space has evolved from the Wee Warriors preschool playground to an art walk to the science honors society planting area, and now, a great place for students to get outdoors.” Many of the students are excited to play on this new turf and concrete. Brooke, an 11th grade student, says, “I like the new area.” From every student that was interviewed, positive results have come back. “I like the sidewalk.” says Kaden, a student in 12th grade. Many of the other students enjoy things about the new area that aren’t so obvious. Students who need easier accessibility really seem to like the new area as well. “I like how it’s wheelchair accessible; I like to sit out there and listen to music,” Kenneth says. In conclusion, multiple teachers and students seem to be very fond of the new turf, area, and basketball hoop. No student has had anything negative to say about it, and soon, there will be more add-ons to come.
