In just two weeks, on March eighth, school is going to be let out for a week and spring break will commence. As students get closer and closer to this long-awaited break, they are filling up their schedules with lots of activities they are excited for. For many Warriors, this means being able to go on vacation. Brooke Lucas, 9th grade, said, “I am super excited to go down to Key West for a few days over spring break. My family and I are going to a wedding for some of my parents’ friends, so we will get to spend a few days down there.” Students in FBLA are also going on a trip over the break. Towards the end of spring break, Friday March fifteenth through Monday March eighteenth, they will be participating in the FBLA State Leadership Conference held in Orlando. Another 9th grade student said, “I am really looking forward to this year’s state leadership conference. I always have a lot of fun going to it with my friends, especially when we do things such as the sit down volleyball tournament, and I am happy it is coming up soon.” Since spring sports are continuing right after the break, students involved in sports don’t seem to be giving up the grind over the break either. Jaileska Rivera-Rosas, a 9th grader on the girl’s junior varsity flag football team, talks about her plans to keep up her game over the break, “For spring break, I am excited to be having some time off from school to sleep and relax, but I am still going to practice a lot for flag football”. Similarly, Lexi Berglund, a 9th grader on the girl’s junior varsity lacrosse team, states that “over the break I plan on continuing to practice for lacrosse”.
