Osceola students adjust to everything being online
April 16, 2020
Because of the spread of Covid-19, schools around the state, country, and globe are being closed to participate in online schools. Online schooling is part of a new normal for most students around the world. However, like schooling, most students participate in extra-curriculars. Just like schools, after-school activities are being closed due to health concerns.
Riley Guge, 9th grade, is part of a dance team called Tutterow Dance Academy, and all her practices and competitions have been cancelled because of Covid-19. Riley said, “We have been participating in Zoom meetings which allow us to keep practicing our dances because we miss being able to see each other and working in the studio together as one.” Another student, 10th grade said, “Since we can’t be in the studio learning our dances, our teacher has to send videos of our choreography through emails and we learn it at home. Also, since we have access to zoom it is easier for us to communicate and try to have a regular class.”
Many other Osceola students are facing similar problems with majority of their activities being online. Whether it’s dance, track, lacrosse, or just school, everyone is going through the same thing with this online journey.
