Prepare for newly proposed Pink Out Day
October 17, 2016
Osceola High sets aside one day in October to have a pink out day to spread the awareness of breast cancer. This year the day chosen was to be Friday the seventh but there was an unexpected school cancellation due to Hurricane Matthew.
As spirit week has started, adviser Ms. Roush had to figure out a new day for the pink out fun in hopes of trying to tie it in with the pink out game or just try to keep in close enough proximity to the game. As Ms. Roush stated, “We have decided to move the day to October 26th”. As October is winding down, Ms. Roush had to pick a day that would fit in with the schools schedule, “Since there was not going to be another pink out game, I had to pick a day that didn’t interfere with homecoming week”. While the actual pink out day has been changed, the football game was rescheduled the following Saturday after the school cancellation on the seventh. Since the in-school pink out day was moved to a Wednesday, there will not be a football game following the pink out day. Sophomore Amanda Weitz explained “I was excited to dress out for the game, yet I’ll just be looking forward to next year’s”. While Hurricane Matthew has cancelled the pint out game this year, Ms. Roush plans on having one next year. Plans are still being determined but be ready for pink out day on October 26th.
