Juniors schedule portraits this summer

Juniors received these brochures in their English classes.

Upcoming seniors of the class of 2017 should know that they will soon need to take their senior portraits. On June 7th, June 8th,  and July 7th, 2016, senior portraits will be taken at school in the auditorium. Students will receive a card in the mail at least two weeks before the picture date, giving the time and date of their appointment.  At that time, students can call to change their appointment if needed.

There are a number of sessions that the student can choose from. First there is the basic senior portrait, where female students will be provided a black drape and male students will be given a tuxedo shirt for the picture.  Students should bring a $10 sitting fee.  Male students should wear a white t shirt.

The next session is the optional Value Session, which includes the portrait and pictures in two indoor scenes. According to Senior Focus, the magazine given to upcoming seniors by Leonard’s, “If you like simplicity, this (The Value Session) is the photo session for you.”

The next available session is the Designer Session. The Designer Session includes the portrait, two indoor scenes and one outdoor scene. It is a way for students to show their personality through the pictures.

The last option that the upcoming seniors can do is the Ultimate session. The Ultimate Session has the biggest amount of portraits that students can choose from. This option includes the yearbook portrait, two indoor scenes and three outdoor scenes. “Outdoor pictures are a trend in senior photography. The natural lighting gives way to beautiful pictures,” said Senior Focus.

“I plan on doing just regular portraits,” said Arlene Duff, 11th grade. “The other ones are nice, but they’re just expensive. And I like how classy looking the yearbook pictures are.”

So, out of the many choices that students make throughout their senior year, how their senior portraits are taken is the first choice that they’ll make. Every photography session has its benefits, from classy looks to artsy or athletic shots.
