The office is getting a new structure in front of its front desk this week for additional security. Assistant Principal Mr. Robertson said that this plan has been passed down to him from the district and is now being implemented at OFHS.

The new structure will function as a sort of check-in so that guests can’t enter the building until Mrs. Gerlach buzzes them in. One of the construction workers who was setting up the new entrance said the glass is very hard to shatter. There are also plans to add a glass window that will go across Mrs.Gerlach’s desk for her security as well as the rest of the office staff.

Mrs. Gerlach said it’s a change that will take time to adapt to. “It’s going to be interesting; we’ll have to learn to live with it.”
