New site, new changes including music
Over the years, writers on The Warrior Record online staff have been following the same format with writing the news. Never have we thought about taking the initiative to have someone write and sing about the news for every month, but that’s what this year’s journalism class is all about: change.
1. River Wells, 10th grade, is the voice behind this new way to promote the news. He said, “I think the changes we have made are good, to take a new form of giving the news to the students. Singing was the new initiative every month of bringing in more viewers to our site.”
2. Another new addition – a calendar to keep you updated on upcoming events or dates happening at Osceola for the month, week or day. This idea was inspired by Sharon Kennedy Wynne, writer with the Tampa Bay Times, who does a “Things to Do” column. We all thought it was a cool way to get important news around.
3. Our third and final change is in the layout of our website. This was all done by our web editor Kaitlyn Jones, 11th grade. “Mrs. Iovino and I decided to make a change due to the fact that the website was older. We wanted to make it look fresher. These new changes can bring more attention and viewers to our site,” she said.
Overall our website has changed. All the changes were well needed and have brought in more viewers to simply change the old news, and also to shake it up a little and be different, to stand out.
