Students win silver at culinary competition
On Wednesday February 19th, culinary students competed in the “Annual pro-star County Culinary Students Invitational Competition.” Chef Kennedy and his team which included Daphne Yejerla, Jhamhyra Banks, Jessica Crosby, and Max Loflin competed in the competition creating and cooking some of their best dishes. The team came in second place winning a silver medal. The appetizer prepared was green bean salad with strawberry vinaigrette. They also prepared a main course which was salmon filet with sundried tomatoes and baby mushrooms. Jessica Crosby, 10th grade, said, “The competition was good and we got along really well.” Daphne Yejerla, 10th grade, also said, “We liked how we worked as a team and we weren’t singled out.”
