Freshmen freak, Seniors soar
“It’s amusing knowing so many freshmen are lost, because I know my way around,” says Janelle McCabe, senior. “But when I think back to my freshmen year, I was just as lost.” The first day of high school is bittersweet.
For freshmen, like Deanna McCullough, 9th grade, it’s like walking blind into a battlefield. You don’t know where you’re going, who you’re going to meet, or what experiences you will have while there. Deanna, said “I was really confused the first day. I have VO-ED first period and I had no idea where to go; if there were specific buses or not.”
For seniors, it’s an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, return to old classrooms, and finish their high school lives so they can begin their lives in the real world. “I can’t wait to graduate, but it’s sad realizing this is it for Osceola,” said Megan, 12th grade.
