A graduate of USF and former PCCA-Gibbs High School student, as well as a Lakewood High school intern, Mr .Kevin Pace is more than qualified for his new job. Mr. Pace took the place of Mrs. Hatchell as the new American History teacher. Although he has never worked in a high school as a teacher, the environment was not new to him. “I was more excited than nervous. I have subbed for a while, so it wasn’t foreign,” he said. Mr. Pace is certified in both music and social studies, but for him there is no preference in which to teach. “I like to teach both, they lend each other to themselves very well. I think it is important for us to know what music was produced in what time period,” said Pace. Although Mr. Pace has only been a part of OHS staff for a few weeks, he has already made a difference. Emily Harris, 11th grade, said, “Mr. Pace is a fantastic and wonderful teacher.” Mr. Pace stated that he likes working here and enjoys the students, also he added teaching is the only thing he could ever see himself doing. “Oh yeah, I will probably be teaching forever.”
