The Super Bowl halftime show was performed by Beyonce and Destiny’s Child. Destiny’s Child has been broken up since 2003 and seeing them perform drove their fans wild.
Emily Drake, 9thgrade,said , “ Beyonce looked really good it was very exciting. I haven’t seen Destiny’s Child in a long time so it was very exciting to see them too, they were good.”
Danilo Brown, 12th grade, said, “I loved the performances, my wife Beyonce was doing her thing but when Destiny’s Child came out, I was so excited and was in awe.”
Some students thought the opposite of Destiny’s Child. Jonathan Colon, 12thgrade, said, “Beyonce was pretty hot, but Destiny’s Child was whack and that girl on the right (Michelle) looked off.”
There was a rumble about the lights giving out during the half-time show. Some fans thought it was Beyonce’s fault.
According to the Washington Post it was because the Mercedes-Benz Superdome had a piece of equipment that is designed to monitor electrical load and sense any abnormalities in the system. Once the issue was detected, the sensing equipment operated as designed and opened a breaker, causing power to be partially cut to the Superdome in order to isolate the issue.
