With spring sports starting up that means track practices are beginning. They are beginning this week and the first day for track was this previous Monday, January 28th. There was a great turn out of students for track according to a track runner, Jen Kistemaker, 10th grade, who said, “There were a lot of people who showed up for the first day of practice.” Students are getting really excited to start this year’s track season. Jen said she is, “Really excited to get this track season started.” Another student involved in track, Logan Rodgers, 10th grade, also said he was, “Excited for track this year.” Students really enjoy the sport, Jen said, “It’s a lot of fun I love it!” Students say that track practices can be hard but the, “meets are always fun,” according to Logan. Running is a great way to stay in shape and being involved in a sport is a great way to see your friends and make new ones. Logan said that track is not only a fun sport but being involved, “Is a good way to stay in shape and see a bunch of people from school outside of class.” Along with track comes pole vaulting. Jen is very talented when it comes to pole vaulting she even made it to states championship last year. Although pole vaulting hasn’t begun yet, Jen said, she’s “also really excited for pole vaulting to begin as well.” The season has just begun and Jen said, “I can’t wait to have a great season with some good wins.”
