In the Tampa Bay Times today there was an article stating that “Officers who work for the Pinellas school system, dressed in plain clothes, have recently been stopping by schools to check on security.” Mr. Bohnet, Osceola’s principal, confirmed this article. “Yes, this is all correct. They do spot checks to make sure that all the doors are locked, and the exterior of the school is locked down,” he said. “District level people will be here to check security of school, to make sure nobody can just walk in,” he continued. Mr. Bohnet wanted Osceola students to know that the “main objective is safety and security and yes things changed but they changed for a reason.”
