Four Osceola Warriors: Ben Ingham, 9th grade, Kayla Chowdhury, 10th grade, Shauna Langdon, 10th grade and Michael Plumridge, 12th grade, are winners of the PTA Reflections. Their entries were sent on to the 2nd level of judging at districts. Reflections entries are judged at local, district, and state levels. These Warriors shared their feelings and thoughts about moving on to districts, which was not easy task.
Chowdhurry, who submitted the literature piece, “The Kiss,” said, “We had like three weeks. We started it, took a break and started it again. He said (Mr. Stewart) that there were around 35 (submissions) at our school.”
Ingham, who participated under the music composition category, explained that there are many categories to submit a work which include: dance choreography, film production, visual arts and many more. Some of these victors didn’t even think that they would see their projects move on to districts.
“I did not think I was going to win and I was surprised when I did,” said Chowdhurry.
Plumridge, who submitted the literature piece, “First Sermon,” said, “My writings were accepted by reflections that have been dismissed by the Oracle for me being in quote too complex of a writer.”
These students will have to buckle up and prepare for the next level at states.
“If I win, I win. If I don’t, I don’t,” said Plumridge.
