“I felt the way we performed was exceptional. The cast worked really, really hard for countless weeks and hours,” said Justin Weiss, 12th grade, who also played the lead role in the fall play ‘Rumors.’ ‘Rumors,’ a play about a couple’s 10th wedding anniversary gone wrong, showed from Thursday, November 8th – Saturday, November 10th. This was the first play that thee Osceola drama team has put on for the 2012-2013 school year. Although you may think putting on such a big play would be stressful, the cast really enjoyed putting it all together. Mackenzie Morgan, 11th grade, said, “It was really fun and exciting; it was everything I thought and more.” This was Mackenzie’s first big show. Although the cast worked hard and did a great job, they lacked support from the fellow Warriors. Weiss said, “I was honestly disappointed with the turnout of Osceola kids. I felt like it should have been more people to support.” Hallie Meara, 12th grade, who has been in seven other plays, said, “It went better than I expected, but not a lot of people ever show up.” With 181 tickets sold over the three days, only 101 were student tickets and 80 adult, which is still a small percent of OHS students. The lack of attendance in the audience did not stop the cast; they still continued to have fun while performing. Justin said, “Performing is always great, the best part is the audience responses.” Mackenzie said, “The best part of the play was getting to know everyone on the cast.” Hallie agreed. “Spending so much time with great people has to be the best part of putting on a show.”
