With just one day left in the first ever peanut butter drive hosted by the students of the Gay Straight Alliance at Osceola, participants are hoping for dozens of more donations. GSA sponsor, Mr. Martens, described the reasoning behind the peanut butter drive.
“It’s to stock up on peanut butter because food pantries have run out of food and it gives these families something to take home,” he said.
The GSA is trying to do a good deed as Samantha May, 12th grade, explained:
“It is the first year doing this particular drive. I know that every year around Christmas we do the – it’s not Christmas without socks and underwear.”
The food will go to food banks to help feed the needy. Any donations will be appreciated.
“Please give us peanut butter of all kinds,” said Mr. Martens.
Students and staff can drop off their jars of peanut butter in room 209.
