Thanksgiving has come and gone, but the memories remain for many Warriors.
Many students visited other places. Freshman Alexa Erickson had fun in the sun. Alexa sailed away and “went on a cruise ship to the Bahamas and Coco Bay for four days over the break.” Freshman Gianna Rinaldi also went out of the country. Gianna “went to Colombia.” Many other Warriors also had some out-of-town plans. Luna Santiago-Baez said, “I went to Orlando to visit my family.” Harper Kalal said she went “St. Augustine’s night of lights at the start of the break with my family.” Alaya Vu went “to New Hampshire to see distant relatives and also to have a nice change of scenery”.
Thanksgiving is a time to come together with family and friends. Even though not everyone went away, others spent their time with family at home. For instance, Isabella Zuzek said, “I had a Thanksgiving party at my house, so a lot of family and friends came over, and I was really looking forward to the party.” Alexa Erickson and Lexi Berglund also both shared how they both went to their grandparents’ houses and had a family dinner. Harper Kalal also added that she “spent Thanksgiving with her family and they ha a big dinner together.”
Not only is Thanksgiving filled with travel and family time for the Warriors, but some also found activities to do here. For example, Lexi Berglund said she “went zip lining with my family. She was excited to go; it was nice spending a lot of time outdoors.” Although not everybody’s plans involve “flying in the sky,” many looked forward to relaxing. In fact, Isabella Zuzek shared how she was “looking forward to just getting to sleep in, listen to music, and watch tv”.
People who are going out of Florida also have many plans for this break. Gianna Rinaldi who visited Colombia says while she was there, “I went on a lot of different tours, I got to see many different animals, and me and my family went to places with very pretty views.” She also shared that “Thanksgiving isn’t really a holiday there like most countries, so my family picked out a lot to do because it was like any normal day there.”
