Cooking up a new start

The new culinary teacher chef Jackie is looking forward to teaching at Osceola.

There was a white jacket to fill in culinary.
The two previous teachers, Chef Spagnola and Chef Kennedy, departed during the 2013-2014 school year, leaving the culinary class without a teacher. There was talk and strife for quite a while, but a new teacher-and start-has come in the form of Chef Jacqueline Drum.
“I love Culinary, and I want others to be inspired too,” she says. Jacqueline Drum, referred to as “Chef Jackie”, has had 19 years of culinary experience, from working at country clubs to teaching college students the culinary arts. These country clubs include the Dunedin Country Club and the Cove Kay Country Club. She also taught at PTEC.
Chef Jackie has been interested in culinary for quite a long time now. “I did this same type of program in middle school, when I was fourteen”. She asserts that her love of culinary began there, and that she has loved it ever since.
The culinary class has lately found themselves teacher-less, and Chef Jackie is very much aware of the two most recent exits; Chef Spagnola and Chef Kennedy as well as Chef Thrash. “It is discouraging,” she says, “But I’m going to solve this problem; I’m up to the challenge.”
Her beginning weeks at Osceola have certainly been anything but a breeze. “It’s been a challenging week, as it’s a different environment, but it gets progressively better each day.”
