“I was just amazed; it was just so sentimental that Mr. Bohnet would choose me for such a great honor.” This is what OHS senior Sheba Saji said about the Seminole Elks dinner on Tuesday, May 14th.
Osceola and Seminole High School students were recognized by the Elks club of Seminole. The recognition comes after much evaluation from teachers and administrators who looked for hard working seniors who showed academic success and contributions to the community. Only the best of the best were recognized. For some, this is their first time.
“It was the first time I got inducted. I thought, how nice of them,” said Laura Douglass, 12th grade.
The ceremony included recognition in front of Elk Lodge members, family, and fellow classmates, along with a special dinner that consisted of salad, turkey, and mashed potatoes with gravy.
“Dinner was amazing; it was sentimental sitting with Ariel Reich and her family, and I had so much fun,” said Saji.
There’s a plaque commemorating OHS students who were recognized by the Elks Lodge in the front office with the associated month under each student.
“I just had so much fun with my friends. I just want to thank Mr. Bohnet and thank the Elks Lodge,” said Saji.
