The flu has become an epidemic according to the Department of Health, and while many students have not gotten their flu shot, it seems that adults are taking it more seriously.

Out of 36 people surveyed during 1st period Tuesday, 4 adults and 3 students said they had gotten a flu shot.  All of the adults surveyed had their shots.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 30 states have reported high levels of flu-like symptoms, and out of all 50 states, only two are not reporting widespread flu activities. 

Ms. Nolan, in student services, said, “A few students (have) come in sick and I’m surprised I have not got it because they come here when they’re sick and call to go home.”
