The culinary department has new furniture, which was donated by the Tradewinds resort. This furniture is in the new dining room dubbed ‘Warriors table.’
Chef Wright said the tables and chairs really set the scene. “They’re more appealing – and they’ll make the room look more like a restaurant instead of a classroom.”
The chefs plan to have the chairs re-upholstered and painted. “They will be as good as new in the fall,” Chef Wright said.
In the future, the chefs say the culinary department might even open the room up to the public for dances, birthday parties, book club meetings, receptions, and other events.
The purpose for this dining room is to teach the students in the culinary center of excellence department about dining, learning how to set a table properly with all the needed utensils. But according to Chef Tomkinson, Osceola will also put the room to use as a “money making opportunity” that will benefit the culinary program.
